Science question please help?

I dont think it is solely the disproof of wrong ideas. Tests and experiments do in fact prove things. Disproof of wrong ideas is called deductive reasoning, there is also inductive reasoning, a very valid biological approach to science. A theory is a collection of hypotheses that have yet to be disproved, so they are widely accepted as a 'more than likely' explanation.
