14 year old guy troube....?

ok so i like this guy and he likes me we are both 14 and we go to differnt school my friends convinceed me to ask him out so i just told him how much i liked him and i didnt wnat to wait. he told me he didnt wnat to date right now. but he still likes me and he just dosnt like to date. and that he might like me alot more later. so is he playing games with me? and why wont he just admit he likes me alot? please help ( oh and he is really shy)
