Kidney problems from the recall, what are the symptoms?

My dog suddenly got sick, he's still eating, hes a 9 year old portugese water spaniel and he has had the runs and been throwing up for about a week, he eats beneful wet&dry food, is he suffering from the tainted recall food? He's my baby and if he died i would cry for days
