I planted a Sycamore I bought from a nursery but all the leaves are brown and wilted. It's been a week?

The owner of the nursery had cut the roots that morning and said that I needed to water it heavily for 30 days. It looks like it's already October with the way the leaves are. They are on the ground and brown. Is there something I should be doing? I have a drip line running on it 24 hours a day.
