Ext HDD Cases?

I have an ext hdd case with lan and usb connections. I have fitted a 200gb drive and cannot get windows hardware det wiz to acknowledge there is a drive connected via either conn's. I have installed the ximeta software that came with the enclosure, and have also tried updated versions from both the manufacturers website and ximeta's. Still no joy. Any ideas anyone??
